ARE YOU READY FOR A HEALING RETREAT?
A Step Toward Healing and Personal Renewal
Healing from trauma is a deeply personal journey, and every individual moves forward at their own pace. At Peaceful Warrior Rising, our healing retreats are designed to create a compassionate environment where participants can step away from everyday pressures and focus on reflection, connection, and emotional restoration.

For many individuals, attending a retreat provides an opportunity to pause, reconnect with themselves, and discover new tools for resilience and healing. This page is intended to help you determine whether a retreat experience may be the right next step in your healing journey.
Who Our Retreats Are Designed For
Peaceful Warrior Rising retreats welcome September 11, 2001 survivors and the first responders who were on the scene who are seeking support as they navigate the lasting effects of that day and its life-changing impact.
Participants often include:
-
Individuals who were present at or near the World Trade Center, Pentagon, or other impacted locations on September 11, 2001
-
Firefighters, police officers, EMS personnel, and other first responders who responded to the attacks
-
Rescue, recovery, and support personnel who assisted in the days and months following
-
Survivors and responders experiencing the long-term emotional or physical effects connected to their experiences on September 11
These retreats bring together people who share a common history and understanding, creating a supportive environment where participants can connect, reflect, and explore meaningful paths toward healing together.
Signs You May Be Ready for a Retreat Experience
Every healing journey is unique, but many participants share common motivations for attending a retreat. You may benefit from a retreat experience if you:
• Feel ready to explore healing in a supportive group environment
• Are open to reflection, mindfulness, and personal growth
• Want to connect with others who understand the effects of trauma
• Are seeking tools to help manage stress or emotional challenges
• Feel a desire to pause and focus on your well-being
You do not need to have everything figured out before attending. Many participants simply arrive with openness and a willingness to explore the next step in their healing journey.
When a Retreat May Not Be the Best Fit Yet
While retreats can provide powerful support, they are not intended to replace professional medical or psychiatric care.
For safety reasons, a retreat may not be the right environment for individuals who are currently experiencing:
• A severe mental health crisis
• Active suicidal thoughts or self-harm behaviors
• Unstable psychiatric or medical conditions
• Active substance dependency without professional support
In these situations, professional medical care and therapeutic support should always be the first priority.
Our goal is to ensure that every participant enters the retreat experience with the stability and support needed to benefit fully from the program.
Why We Ask Participants to Complete a Questionnaire
Before attending a retreat, participants are asked to complete a Retreat Questionnaire.
This questionnaire helps our team understand:
• Your goals for attending the retreat
• Your current support systems
• Any health or personal considerations that may affect participation
Your responses allow us to determine whether the retreat experience is a good fit for your current stage of healing and help us prepare a supportive environment for everyone involved.
Begin Your Healing Journey
If you believe a healing retreat may be right for you, we invite you to take the first step by completing the Retreat Questionnaire. Healing begins with a single step, and you do not have to walk the path alone.
